On July 25th, 2019, Nevvon joined leaders in the home care industry on Capitol Hill for the 2019 Congressional Lobby Day. Below are the national initiatives at Lobby Day, organized by the Home Care Association of America:
This bill would amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow health savings accounts to cover qualified home care services. This is a common-sense way to improve access to the care many need to help them stay in their homes for as long as possible and avoid institutionalized care.
Encouraging the efforts for comprehensive immigration reform to address the current and future workforce needs of the aging population. In particular, HCAOA is in favor of a non-immigrant visa program that would allow qualified workers to enter the United States for employment in the home care industry.
Congress needs ti make long-term care policies a priority. The aging of our population requires Congress to review its policies and identify cost-effective ways to assist seniors and individuals with disabilities to age gracefully in a manner that affords them maximum independence for as long as possible.
The home care industry has a voice and it was well used on Capitol Hill!
