Here are some of the highlights from the webinar
In our recent webinar with Viventium, the conversation centered around important aspects of caregiver onboarding and retention within the post-acute care industry. We shared insights from the Viventium Caregiver Onboarding Study that highlighted how a positive onboarding experience, along with strong job commitment and access to necessary resources, can contribute to better retention rates among caregivers.
The discussion emphasized the value of well-structured onboarding processes, including mentorship programs that allow experienced caregivers to guide new hires, fostering a supportive environment. The use of technology to streamline administrative tasks was also touched upon, as a means to enable more meaningful interactions between caregivers and their employers.
Attention was also given to the everyday challenges caregivers face, particularly with tax documentation and payroll. We offered practical suggestions, such as providing dedicated support to help caregivers navigate these complexities and ensuring transparency in pay structures. These measures were seen as key to building trust and confidence among caregivers.
Moreover, the high costs associated with caregiver turnover were acknowledged, with a focus on the importance of creating a welcoming and supportive onboarding process. Regular check-ins and opportunities for ongoing development were suggested as ways to help caregivers feel valued and engaged. The role of feedback in enhancing job satisfaction was highlighted, with an example showing how caregiver input led to the introduction of a bereavement program, positively impacting the workplace culture.
