Nursing homes participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs will be required to have all staff vaccinated

To the home care and home health community,

Nursing homes participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs will be required to have all staff vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to continue receiving federal funding for the programs.

Providers could be expected to meet the mandate as soon as next month. Some states have already mandated that home care workers are required to be vaccinated.

This will clearly have a negative impact on the already brutal staffing shortage.

While we cannot change the mandate, we have some solutions that could complement your efforts.

Through the National Minority Health Association, Nevvon has created COVID-19 training in plain language (and in several languages) to help caregivers to better decide whether to get vaccinated or not.

This is free!

There are financial incentives for the caregiver who gets vaccinated.

The caregivers will earn $75 for every vaccination they get and another $25 if they get a peer, patient, family member, neighbour or anyone in the U.S. vaccinated. Your agency will have financial incentives upon vaccination success.

How this will help you:

  • Be actively part of the solution
  • Join the largest home care agencies and be a thought leader
  • Have more of your staff vaccinated
  • Use this program as a recruitment and retention tool
