Autumn is a beautiful season, but how can we help keep seniors safe both indoors and outdoors? Here are some helpful tips:
Clear Away Leaves
Loose leaves can actually increase the chances of seniors slipping and falling. Help reduce the risk of falling by clearing away any leaves and obstacles on walkways.
Keep Warm
Although autumn may not be as cold as winter, vulnerable populations are still at risk of developing hypothermia in mild to cold weather. If you are going outside with a senior, make sure they dress in layers.
Infection Control
Not only are we in a pandemic, but we are approaching flu season as well. Make sure you always wash your hands, avoid any contact with those who are sick, and disinfect all surfaces you touch. Infection control is vital for the protection of vulnerable populations.
